This similar to, but is unlike joining a mailing list. With a mailing list items are stored in your mailbox at your ISP, taking up space. Someone posts to the list, the mail is sent to you. With RSS your reader only polls the required feeds and downloads selected info to your computer for reading. Usually in an RSS download you get a basic description of the item. You then click the link to view the full story. Thus no download of information that is not required. Sometimes if the item takes the form of a short notice, it may all fit in the description. Bigger items usually link out to another page. As you can see, the difference is, if you don't want to read the full item don't click the link. No bulk mail in your inbox! So, now you have had the run down on RSS perhaps you'd like to get yourself a reader and try our RSS feed. Readers can be found (some free) by typing RSS Reader into Google. Those who wish to can read the RSS feed directly from the news section of the web site. NEWS ITEMS Send items for the web site.
